Wilton Re is a Bermuda-based holding company created in 2005 to capitalize on the market opportunity in the U.S. life reinsurance industry. The company conducts its life reinsurance business through Bermuda and U.S. subsidiaries. Targeted lines of business are both traditional mortality reinsurance and runoff solution products.

The company's initial capital commitments totaled $628 million and consisted of equity commitments from FFL, Trident III (Stone Point Partners), Vestar, and others.
